Welcome to Miss Smith's Website!

Greetings Miller Rustlers!

My name is Katie Smith, and I am entering my third year as a 7-12 Special Education teacher here at Miller. I really enjoy working with the students, staff, and the Miller community. Dee Rogers is the para-professional that helps in my room, and she is a wonderful co-worker and great with the kids. I am also an assistant track coach working mostly with the throwing events.

I graduated from Northern State University in May of 2011 with a double major in Special Education and Elementary Education with a coaching endorsement. I competed for Northern's track team for four years and really enjoyed throwing hammer and discus. I am currently working on my Master's degree in Education and Learning through Northern State, and plan to graduate in the Spring of 2015. I look forward to continuning working and meeting the people in the Miller Community.

I grew up on our family farm in Hazel, SD where my parents reside. I am the oldest of five children. I have three sisters and one brother. Emily and her husband Jeremy farm with my parents and have a little boy, Colton. Emily will be a second year title teacher this year. Amber is currently pursuing a history degree at USD, Melissa will be a senior this year, and Kyle will be entering 8th grade. I enjoy hanging with my family and friends, fishing, sports, and watching movies.

I look forward to a fun, successful school year!
